In an attempt to completely kill their careers. Natalie Maines has done it again in an interview with the Daily Telegraph.
The Chicks can’t hide their disgust at the lack of support they received from other country performers. “A lot of artists cashed in on being against what we said or what we stood for because that was promoting their career, which was a horrible thing to do,” says Robison.
“A lot of pandering started going on, and you’d see soldiers and the American flag in every video. It became a sickening display of ultra-patriotism.”
“The entire country may disagree with me, but I don’t understand the necessity for patriotism,” Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. “Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country… I don’t see why people care about patriotism.”
I can’t see why anyone is still buying your albums but there are some things in this world that just can’t be explained Natalie.
Michelle Malkin has some really offensive images for the Dixie Chicks.
hehe I had to laugh at Flopping Aces post:
So not only Maines is a friggin idiot but this writer must have the intellect of a 12 year old also. There is no rational explanation? WTF!
She went to a foreign country and bad mouthed our President while at war. Oh btw, they WERE a country band. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand that most who listen to country also love their country.
Kudos to The Coalition of the Swilling who was first to post on this article and had this to say:
Yes, it always comes back to McCarthy and Vietnam, that one-two combination of leftist martyrdom. Oh, I am called to task for a stupid comment! I’m being repressed! McCarthy! How dare people not buy my music because they think I’m an ass…
Indeed.

The Dixie Chicks: What’s the big deal about patriotism?…
The Chicks are still flaming mad about the treatment they received from other country music stars after comments Maines made to a British audience in March 2003 in which she stated she was ashamed the president of the US was from Texas:
The Chicks can&…

Always have to stop and wonder what on earth makes actors, singers and other entertainers think they have the scoop on politics and world events. Newsflash, ladies: we pay you to sing.
At least, we did.
Before you started acting stupid.
In the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln: “Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”
